Battle of Britain:
Sonar has large sonic databases, which are used to identify the speed of the ship, types of weapons used on the ship and even the specific ship. In the Battle of Britain in World War II, the Britains held a huge advantage over the Germans- sonar. Though greatly outnumbered, Britain was able to fend off the Germans using their sonar and radar technology, which detected oncoming German fighter planes, submarines, and ships.
